A farmer was killed by a wild elephant in Bulnegoda on Saturday (21) while he was cooking breakfast for his family at dawn.
The deceased has been identified as R.D. Wijesinghe (66), a resident of Bulnegoda village in the Galgamuwa Police area in the Kurunegala district.
Kurunegala SSP R.A. Ranasinghe said yesterday that six persons and eight wild elephants have died in the human–elephant conflict in 2022 in the Puttalam and Kurunegala districts of the North Western Province.
