Public servants called for essential work only

Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Bandula Gunawardana said a circular will be issued calling on public servants to work only as deemed for essential services on a proposal made by Public Administration Minister Dinesh Gunawardena. This decision was reached after considering the difficulties faced by public servants due to the fuel, gas and electricity crisis currently prevailing in the country.

He was speaking at a media briefing held at the Government Information Department yesterday (24). A discussion in this regard was held yesterday with the participation of Public Administration Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, Public Administration Ministry Secretary, Institutions Heads and relevant other authorities.
