Woman’s body found from well

A body of a woman of two children was found in an unprotected well near her residence in Pahalawewa on Saturday, Galewela Police said. The deceased was identified as R.M.Padmalatha, (53), a resident of Pahalawewa

The woman had gone to a nearby house in the night and not returned. Then her husband had searched for his wife with the help of neighbours and found her body in the unprotected well near their residence.

Later, the body was taken to the Dambulla Base Hospital for an autopsy. The postmortem was to be held on Sunday, Police said. Galewela Police are investigating.
