Grand Kandyan Hotel increases banquet facilities

The Grand Kandyan Hotel Kandy has reprogrammed their banquet facilities to meet the present day demands and will also be hosting several foreign MICE events as well.

General Manager, Grand Kandyan Thusith Samaraweera said that though the room occupancy levels are not impressive, similar to all hotels the conference and banquet market is very strong and they have secured several back to back events.

With a minimum seating capacity of 350 to a maximum of 1,000, Royal Peacock ballroom is a majestic banquet facility with sparkling crystal chandeliers with adjustable lighting system offering an unforgettable ambiance. Golden Eagle is a venue for celebration in Kandy which can host a grand wedding, business meeting or conference while Flamingo ball room is a versatile space to host an event from birthday parties, weddings to business meetings with maximum seating capacity of 175.

With the background view of “Udawatta Kale” Falcon offers an exclusive meeting space to host a conference or meeting with a maximum of 100 guests. In addition, the rooftop sky lounge and the poolside bar are premier versatile event spaces offering an amazing place for chill out with friends and families or business partners giving a 360 ° panoramic view over the mountain range and the city of Kandy. The Blitz nightclub is open for the public as well and can host 170 guests cocktail style while the all day dining Tamarind restaurant floor is a popular venue among the Kandy crowd for Saturday International Buffet. With over 100 rooms Grand Kandyan is the only hotel in the region that has a multi foreign staff drawn up from German, Philippines Russian and Indian.
