Minister Prasanna requests for two weeks to answer SLPP MP's question

Chief Government Whip Minister Prasanna Ranatunga requested for two weeks to answer a question raised by Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Kalutara District MP Lalith Ellawala in Parliament on Wednesday (22) pertaining to the death of former JVP Leader Rohana Wijeweera 33 years ago.

Ellawala noted that the arrest of former JVP leader Rohana Wijeweera by the then Government on November 12, 1989 had been published in the media and asked if he knew that he had died the next day.

He also requested the Minister to reveal if Wijeweera’s death was due to natural causes or whether it was murder.

These questions were posed to Public Security Minister Tiran Alles. However, the questions were taken up for response by Chief Government Whip Prasanna Ranatunga.
