Kerala cannabis worth Rs. 14 million seized in Mannar

Navy seized 49.380kg of Kerala cannabis during a special search operation at Mannar Sand Banks on August 3 morning.

SLNS Thammanna from the North Central Naval Command in a special search operation at Mannar Sand Banks on August 3 seized 20 packages of Kerala cannabis buried in the area. The stock weighed about 49.380kg.

Smugglers might have hidden this stock of Kerala cannabis underground, Navy personnel said.

The gross street value of the Kerala cannabis is about Rs. 14 million. The stock was kept in Naval custody until legal action.
