The Grassroots to Global Series - Sri Lanka Forum organised by Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR), will be held at the Mandarina Hotel, Colombo at 9.00 a.m. onwards from August 20 to 21, with Childfund Rugby, which is a renowned organisation for development promotion, being the main sponsoring body.
The main objective of this forum is to promote female rugby and the development of leadership among Women who are engaged in rugby.
Therefore, 25 school Physical Training Instructors (PTI) from covering seven different Provinces were given the opportunity to take part in the first ever rugby leadership programme.
The PTI were chosen as the participants as it will help to take forward the information to the grassroot level.
Dr. Amal Harsha de Silva, Secretary, Ministry of Sports and Rizly Illiyas, President of SLR will be invited as the chief guests for the event while the forum will be moderated under the guidance of Ex-co Member Dr. Samantha Nanayakkara with the assistance of former Sri Lankan Women's Rugby captain Sujani Rathnayake and Harini Jayamaha.
