Man shot dead in Pitigala

An unknown gunman shot at a person who was travelling on a motorcycle at around 10 pm on Saturday night in Kabaluwa, Niyagama Talgaswala in the Pitigala police area.

The person who was shot died at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital on admission.

The deceased was a retired army soldier, K.L. Ranga Prasasanna, a 32-year-old father of two, residing in Kabaluwa.

He was shot while he was riding his motorcycle back home after going to a nearby hotel to buy dinner. The Police found empty cartridges on the ground and Police said that a No. 12 shotgun was used for the shooting. Police are investigating.
