The Matale Assistant Superintendent of Police has taken steps to interdict a police officer who allegedly sexually abused an under aged girl inside a trishaw who came to the police to complain about being seriously sexually abused by another person.
This crime was committed on August 27 last year while the constable was working at the Matale Kandenuwara Police Station.
The girl who was sexually abused by this officer when she came to the police station that day to complain about a serious sexual abuse on her by another person. The officers of Matale Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau have uncovered during investigations that the girl was molested by the police constable in the trishaw. The police officer had taken the girl in a trishaw to the location the girl had mentioned as the place she had been raped.
The constable is to be produced before courts.
