Patali not in full agreement despite alliance

MP Patali Champika Ranawaka said that despite his party running for the Local Government Election as an alliance, with several other parties, there is still no agreement within the alliance on policy matters.

He said this while speaking at a press conference in Kandy yesterday (1). The MP said that if the parties decide to reach a collective opinion on policy matters this could be done in the future after discussions. Ranawaka said his party has aligned with parties led by Kumara Welgama and Maithri Gunaratne and in some LG institutions have put forward independent candidates. “We have an electoral agreement, not an agreement based on policies,” he stressed.
