Probe into hand grenade found near Kabaddi Assn. President’s car

The Hettipola Police have launched a search operation for a person who lobbed a hand grenade close to the car of Sri Lanka Kabaddi Association   President Anura Pathirana. Anura Pathirana resides in the Hettipola Dolahamuna area. He had parked his car in the garden and when he went to start it he had seen the hand grenade lying close to it on Sunday (26). Police who took the hand grenade into their custody said it was manufactured in a foreign country. Investigations have revealed that Pathirana is the Sri Lanka Kabaddi Association election this year. A senior Police officer said that it appears that the grenade was left near Pathirana’s car to scare him.
