Russel’s Tea celebrates thirty five years

Russel’s (Pvt) Ltd, one of the leading tea services and outdoor catering companies in Sri Lanka, is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year.

Founded in 1988, the company has been providing high-quality Ceylon tea to customers around the world.

Founder Russel Perera, with his passion for tea and his dedication to quality, started the company with his wife (Director) Bernadette Perera riding his own make shift motor bike with a vision to serve a good cup of tea courtesy of a Sri Lankan smile.

Over the years, the company has grown and expanded and became one of the first companies to introduce tea service to banks and companies. They were also pioneers to introduce outdoor catering for events and corporate functions and also for Chambers hosted events.

Over the years, Russel’s has become a major player in the food & beverage industry, whilst selling tea locally and internationally, making significant contributions to the local economy.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating our 35th anniversary,” said. Russel Perera, the Chairman of Russel’s. “Our success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, family and partners and loyal clients. We are proud to continue our family legacy and we look forward to sharing our teas with even more people in the years to come.”

Today, Russel’s Tea is still run by the family, with the second generation’s involvement in the family business.

Director, Jehan Perera said, “We have always strived to produce high-quality tea while also supporting the local community. We believe that our commitment to quality and social responsibility are the foundations of our success.”

“As they celebrate their 35th anniversary, they look forward to continuing to share their love of tea with the world,” added Director, Rashane Perera.

The journey to success has not been an easy road for Russel’s, with numerous challenges being faced along the way. In fact, Russel’s Tea has managed to stay resilient during the C-19 pandemic and the economic crisis that followed and it is now a symbol of success and excellence in the tea services industry.
