Eleven bound for Georgia on forged documents arrested at BIA

The Criminal Investigation Officials on duty at the Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday arrested  11 persons who tried to leave for Georgia by using forged documents.Police said that two women in the age group of 26-36 are also among the suspects and they are residents of Mullativu and Deft. Preliminary investigations have revealed that a Grama Niladhari of Athenspuram is also among the other suspects and they are residents of Achchuveli, Kurumanvale, Marikutti, Ilavali, Thellippalai, Mannar and Vavuniya.

Police said that they have paid millions of rupees to a person who had promised them jobs in Georgia. Police has started investigation to trace the person involved in the human smuggling.
