The programme to grant 1,000 scholarships for deserving schoolchildren took place recently for the 20th year in succession at the Sacred Ruwanweli Maha Seya premises under the patronage of Chief Incumbent of Ruwanweli Maha Seya temple.
Over 20,000 schoolchildren were benefited by this programme which is funded by EWIS Group Chairman Sanjeewa Wickramanayake. Pictures show the beneficiaries receiving scholarships from the Chief Incumbent of Ruwanweli Maha Seya Temple Ven. Eethalawetunawewe Gnanathilaka Thera and EWIS Chairman Wickramanayake. Army Commander Lt. Gen. Vikum Liyanage was also present.
