Ridiyagama Safari Park’s Curator Hemantha Samarasekera said that two lion cubs born to the lioness named ‘Sina’ at the Ridiyagama Safari Park will be on public display from the August 10. He said that these two cubs will be put on public display for a limited time, from August 10 for World Lion’s Day.
Sina the lioness who gave birth to these two cubs, has given birth to nine cubs on three occasions. Accordingly, the total number of lion cubs born at the Ridiyagama Safari Park is 18. Meanwhile, the first lion cub named ‘Dora’ born to lioness ‘Lara’ managed to win the love of many. Samarasekera said that the two lion cubs have not been named yet and children have been given the opportunity to name the lion cubs through the Facebook page of Ridiyagama Safari Park and that arrangements will be made to award gifts to several who propose names.
