Nestle Lanka PLC’s flagship brand, MILO, is once again stepping up to support young athletes in Sri Lanka, as it sponsors the 48th Annual Sri Lanka Schools All Island Age Groups Aquatic Championship.

This prestigious event, organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association, is set to take place from August 23 to 27 at the Sugathadasa Stadium Aquatic Complex.

The MILO sponsorship, now in its 29th consecutive year, underscores the company’s commitment to nurturing grass-root sports in the country and fostering the development of young talent. Over 5,000 children from more than 200 schools will participate, showcasing their skills in swimming and diving on a national platform.

The tournament spans five age groups, catering to both boys and girls from Under-10 to Under-20. A total of 27 championship trophies will be awarded to both individuals and schools, adding an extra layer of competition and motivation.

In the previous edition, St. Joseph’s College clinched the Boys Championship, while Visakha Vidyalaya emerged victorious in the Girls Championship. The Mixed School Championship title went to Lyceum International School Wattala, demonstrating the diverse talent present in Sri Lanka’s schools.

The closing ceremony for this exciting event is scheduled for August 27 at 4 pm. The ceremony will be held under the patronage of the Education Minister, Susil Premjayanth and the guest of honor will be N. Ranasinghe, Education Ministry Secretary.
