Borella Police reported that the manager who was the driver of a funeral parlour who had been driving a hearse with a body in it, while drunk was arrested and taken to the police
along with the body at around 12 midnight.
Officers performing traffic duties at the Borella junction, had signalled a hearse that was driving carelessly to stop, on Tuesday (15) night. The driver of the hearse had stopped a little away from the place where the police officers were standing, and the police officers observed that he was wobbling towards them.When they spoke to the individual, they realised that he was highly intoxicated.
The Police officers had taken the driver’s licence of this individual and arranged to take him and the hearse he was driving, with the body inside, to the Police station.
After arriving at the Police station, the person who alighted from the hearse had said, ‘Oh sir (stating the name of a well-known funeral parlour) I am the manager and there is a body in the hearse, what are you going to do with it sir?. Police officers who were baffled had looked inside the hearse and seen that there was a body inside.
Police officers, who acted immediately, had made a phone call to the funeral directors and got down another hearse immediatly, placed the body inside it and dispatched it.
