The University Grants Commission (UGC) informs that the deadline for submitting university admission applications for the 2022/2023 academic year will end tomorrow (5) based on the results of the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level examination.Students were given time to submit applications to universities from September 14, and 43,209 applicants for 17 universities will be selected this time.
Examinations Commissioner General Amith Jayasundara said that 166,938 students qualified for university admission in this year’s General Certificate of Advanced Studies 2022(2023) examination.
The results of the Advanced Level examination were released on September 4 and the Sri Lanka Examinations Department informs that 263,933 candidates appeared for the A/L examination and the results of 84 candidates were withheld due to various reasons.
Of the 166,938 who qualified for university admission, 149,487 were school applicants and 17,451 were private applicants. The Department Examinations states that 96,995 applicants who appeared for the Advanced Level examination this year did not qualify for universities.
