Zahira College, Colombo qualified for the semi final with a comfortable 6 goals to nil win against Zahira College, Gampola, in their under 20 all Island, division 1 quarter final game of “THE BALL BLASTER 2023″, Sponsored by srilankansportstv, organised and conducted by the Ministry of Education and Sri-Lanka Schools Football Association, played at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Colombo recently.
In a 90 minutes play ( 45 minutes of each half), Zahira College, Colombo, coming into the game with a plan, got their first goal, in the first minute of play from the boot of M.N.M. Thariq, to give them a 1 nil lead. Zahira College, Colombo from their onwards went on to score three more goals from the boot of M.S.M. Shahil in the 11th and 14th minutes and M. Ziard scoring in the 19th minute, gave them a clear lead by four goals to nil at the half time.
In the second half of the game, Zahira College, Colombo, showcased their talent and skills to score their fifth goal in the third minute (48th minute of play), from the boot of Fareeq Ahamed. M.N.M. Mufazzal scored the sixth goal in the nineth minute (54th minute of play) and Zahira College, Colombo, who was in a comfortable position, dominated the game till the end of the full time. With this resounding win, Zahira College, Colombo got qualified for the semi final of ” THE BALL BLASTER 2023″.
