The Sri Lanka High Commission in Malaysia facilitated a consignment of medicine worth of USD 70,000 (Rs 23,000,000.00) donated by Unimed Sdn Bhd, a renowned Malaysian pharmaceutical company to the people of Sri Lanka to support the healthcare system of the country with some essential medicines, stated the Sri Lankan High Commission in MAlaysia.

Recognizing the importance of this humanitarian initiative, the Sri Lankan Airlines made arrangements to airlift the consignment to Sri Lanka on a free-of-charge basis and an exco member of Federation of Malaysian Sri Lankan Organization (FOMSO) Geetha Rubasundram sponsored the local freight forwarding chargers.

This donation will positively contribute towards the ongoing efforts to overcome healthcare challenges faced by Sri Lanka particularly with regard to some specific types of essential drugs.
