A two-year-old child of a couple who were staying at a resort in Bentota had drowned in the hotel swimming pool, Police said.
The deceased has been identified as Ayub Amanullah, a resident of Thimbirigasyaya, Colombo.
The child’s parents along with a group of other relatives had arrived at the relevant tourist resort on Friday (10) afternoon. Police believe the child had wondered around unnoticed by his parents and relatives and had fallen into the swimming pool where he had drowned.
Police are further investigating the incident
