Sri Lanka Discusses Trade and Economic Cooperation with Belarus National Marketing Center

State Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya and Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage discussed trade and economic cooperation with Belarus at a virtual meeting held on 30 November 2023. Director of the National Center for Marketing Nikolay Borisevich participated from Belarus side.

The two sides discussed the opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation in the potential areas including agrarian and food sectors, agricultural engineering, rubber, fertilizers and chemical industries. The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow and the Belarus National Centre for Marketing confirmed their readiness to assist in organizing business visits of Sri Lankan business personnel to the Republic of Belarus for substantive discussion of specific projects and initiatives. Both parties agreed to work out the possibility of holding bilateral business events involving representatives of various sectors of both countries.
