J’pura Flames, the official media platform of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, launched the J’pura Flames Magazine during the SLUG 2023 event on May 29, 2024, presented to the esteemed Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Established in 2013, J’pura Flames initially centered around Photography, capturing the vibrant sports events of the university. Over its 12-year journey, the club has expanded its scope, now operating across eight key areas: Photography, Videography, Article Writing, Poetry, Human Resources, Broadcasting, Graphic Designing, and IT and Marketing. As a dynamic media hub, the club offers undergraduates diverse opportunities to participate in various activities, fostering skill development across multiple domains.
This inaugural magazine commemorates the University of Sri Jayewardenepura’s remarkable triumph in the Sri Lanka University Games (SLUG) 2023. It pays homage to the invaluable contributions of J’pura Flames members, who dedicated immense effort to covering SLUG 2023 as part of the media team. Additionally, the magazine highlights the thrilling journeys of J’pura’s sports teams throughout the games.
The Executive Boards of J’pura Flames for 23/24 and 24/25 proudly inaugurated the magazine by presenting the first copy to the Vice-Chancellor, Senior Professor M. M.
