P.B Gayani of Southern Province and D. M. Dhanushka of North Central emerged Race Walking champions at National Sports Games held at Mahiyanganaya last Sunday.
Dhanushka ended the race with 1 hour 37.40 while Y.S Wimalasuriya of Southern Province and D. M. D. Rukmal of Uva were placed second and third. Meanwhile three Southern Province athletes Gayani, Kalhari Madurika and Dinusha Dilhani won the first three places in women’s Race Walking.
Southern Province team won women’s team championship while North Central Province emerged men’s team champions. Nestle Lanka Nestomalt once again sponsored this event which conducted by Sports Ministry and Sports Development Department as a part of National Sports Games.
Thenuka Vidanagamage State Minister, Sanjeewa Wickrmasinghe-Head of Business and Activation Nestle Lanka and Sports Director I .P Wijeratna were present at the awards ceremony.
