“Teachers continuing strikes will lead to empty classrooms, more tuition classes”

Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha said in Parliament yesterday that if teachers go on strike like this, there will be no children in classrooms in five years’ time.He further said that there won’t be children left in classrooms in five years time as they are going to end up in tuition classes.

He also said that there will be a surplus of teachers compared to children in the future. The Minister said that those leading these strikes should understand this situation.
