England qualifies for the semis

Chris Jordan took 4 for 10, including a hat-trick, and skipper Jos Buttler scored an unbeaten 83 off 38 balls as England easily defeated USA by 10 wickets to reach the semifinals in Barbados yesterday.

Chasing 116, England’s openers Jos Buttler (83*) and Phil Salt (25*) reached the target in just 9.4 overs. Buttler’s knock included 6 fours and 7 sixes, with 5 sixes in the 9th over bowled by Harmeet Singh.

Earlier, USA, batting first, collapsed from 88 for 5 to 115 all out, losing their last five wickets in five balls. Jordan’s hat-trick came in the final over. England, the last team to enter the Super Eight, were the first to qualify for the semifinals thanks to their impressive run rate. Adil Rashid, with 2 for 13, was named Man of the Match.
