The income of the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has increased by 20 percent due to the special bus services operated for devotees travelling to Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa for the Poson festival.
The income received on June 20 alone was Rs. 29 million.
According to SLTB Chairman Lalith De Alwis, the next day (21) SLTB had received an income of Rs. 35.8 million.
This income has been obtained from buses running on normal schedule and special buses operated by several depots.
