Sports Minister lays foundation stone

The foundation stone for the proposed swimming pool and auditorium at St. Anthony’s College, Wattala, was recently laid by Harin Fernando, Minister of Lands, Tourism, Sports, and Youth Affairs.

The Sports Development Department allocated Rs. 40 million for the construction of the swimming pool and Rs. 20 million for the auditorium.

The event was attended by Director General of the Sports Development Department, Rear Admiral Professor Shamal Fernando, Sri Lanka Cricket Board Secretary Krishantha Kapuwatta, OBC President Rajendra Ratnavelu, President of the Swimming Wing Denver Fernando, and other notable guests.
