The owner of the beauty products distribution company promoted and sold by model Piyumi Hansamali was summoned to the Illegal Assets Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department yesterday (27) to record a statement.
Police Media Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa said that the Court has ordered to question him and accordingly he was summoned to the Illegal Assets Investigation Division.
The Illegal Assets Division of the Criminal Investigation Department had made a request to a courier company that distributes creams and other beauty products of Hansamali’s company, to give a statement but the heads of the company had rejected it.
Accordingly, a court order was obtained requesting the head of the courier company to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department in order to record his statement.
The CID is carrying out an investigation following a complaint filed by Sanjaya Mahawatta, the head of the ‘Magen Ratata’ organisation whether Piyumi Hansamali has acquired wealth by illegal means.
