Police seize NFF political posters targetting candidate

The National Freedom Front’s (Jathika Nidahas Peramuna) Chilaw Electoral Organiser was arrested by the Madampe Police yesterday (November 15) morning for being in possession of a stock of posters targetting a particular candidate in the Presidential election during the non-campaign period before voting day.

Police said two types of posters totaling 3,850 were seized from his possession following a tip-off.

They referred to several incidents relating to the Easter Sunday bomb attacks and to past insurgencies.

He was due to be produced before the Chilaw Magistrate yesterday along with the posters.
