Eighteen-year-old Pramod Ekanayake is a promising volleyball player, who has represented Vijayaba National School, Hungama with distinction.
He started playing volleyball under their school coach and Master-in-Charge Tharaka Rathnaweera in 2015.
In the following year he represented the school Under-15 Volleyball Team, which won the Zonal and Provincial Tournaments. He was also a member of the school volleyball team, which reached the last eight at the All-Island Schools Tournament and also emerged second runners-up in 2018.
Ekanayake was a member of the school volleyball team, which came to the last eight at the Under-23 Open Tournament in 2019.
In addition, Ekanayake played for the Pubudu Vijayaba Club and was selected for the Sri Lanka youth volleyball pool in 2020.
