Police HQ to probe roadside fracas

An investigation has been launched by the Police Headquarters into the incident where a senior officer in charge of the Sabaragamuwa Province had assaulted a civilian.

The incident had taken place following an accident in Kiriella yesterday.

The incident where the police officer assaulted the civilian was caught on camera and the footage was later released on social media yesterday.However,Police Headquarters sources said that the incident would be investigated thoroughly as such incidents would tarnish the reputation of the police.
