A 50-year-old private bank manager, who was arrested in connection with the alleged sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl of a leading school in Colombo, was remanded till December 20 by Colombo Additional Magistrate T. N. A. Ilangasinghe yesterday. The arrested suspect has been identified as a resident of Kirulapone.
It has been revealed that the Bank Manager, who had taken the underaged girl in a tinted-glass jeep to public parking lots and sexually abused her.
Bambalapitiya Police stated that the victim girl is undergoing treatment at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital and the hospital has not issued the medical reports so far. The investigations have been initiated following a complaint lodged by the mother of the victim girl.
Police further stated that the arrested suspect’s wife is dead and he is the father of two girls. Police noted that the suspect has been in contact with the girl for more than three months.
