Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday issued an order directing the OIC of the Public Complaints Division of the Police Headquarters to submit a report to court pertaining to the actions that have been taken regarding the security of the two notorious well-known underworld criminals Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne alias Harak Kata and Salindu Malshitha Gunaratne alias Kudu Salindu.
The Magistrate made this order pertaining to the request made by the President’s Counsel Rienzie Arsecularatne yesterday.
Filing a motion before the Magistrate, President’s Counsel Rienzie Arsecularatne appearing on behalf of the suspects requested the Magistrate to issue an order directing the Criminal Investigations Department to provide necessary security for his clients when they are taken outside for any investigation. President’s Counsel Rienzie Arsacularatne, Senior Counsel Udara Muhandiramge, Attorneys Thilina Punchihewa and Sanjaya Ariyadasa appeared on behalf of the suspects.
The Magistrate further ordered that the report be submitted before April 29.
