Thurstan College will look to extend their dominance over the traditional rivals Isipathana College when they clash in the 16th Battle of the Brothers Inter-School Twenty20 cricket encounter at the Thurstan Grounds on Saturday.

The match which is played for the Priya Paranavitane Challenge Trophy has been revived after a lapse of four years as the previous game was played in 2019 at the Colts CC Grounds in Colombo.

Thurstan have been dominating the T20 series since the inaugural year in 2008 and they are also the holders of the Trophy having defeated Isipathana by 52 runs in 2019 while Isipathana’s previous win was recorded way back in 2012.

This time the two-day Big Match between the two schools ended in a tame draw at the P. Sara Oval but Thurstan defeated Isipathana by four wickets in the 43rd limited overs encounter at the R. Premadasa Stadium and regained the W. A. de Silva Memorial Trophy after a lapse of four years.

Thurstan Captain of 2014, SSC and Moors SC First-Class cricketer, Kavindu Kulasekara will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.
