Suriyawewa Safari park to become cynosure of all eyes

The first safari park in Sri Lanka at Suriyawewa is a tourist attraction with a difference. It will provide nature lovers and tourists an opportunity to see wildlife in the natural habitat. About 150 youth have bee trained at the Dehiwala zoo as guides to be employed at the safari park which is under construction.

The park will provide 500 jobs for the youth in the district. People in the area will benefit in many ways. The park, in an extent of 500 acres, is close to the Mdunagala hot springs at Mahapelessa. Visitors will be provided with covered vehicles to roam about in the park.

Meanwhile, the Udawalawa National Park and its environment will be developed to the status of a tourist zone.
