Pedestrian knocked down

A pedestrian, knocked down by a motorcyclist while crossing the road at Weerahena junction on the Marawila-Nattandiya road, succumbed to his injuries at the Colombo National Hospital where he was being treated after being transferred from the Marawila hospital, Marawila police said.

The victim was identified as J. M. Berty Weerasinghe, 68, of Weerahena, Marawila. Marawila Police are investigating.
