Addalaichenai Divisional Secretariat cricket team emerged champion of the Ampara district cricket tournament when they won the final against Akkaraipattu Divisional Secretariat cricket team at Palamunai public play grounds recently.
This tournament was organized by the Eastern Province Sports Department. Almost 14 champion teams from each Divisional Secretariat divisions in the Ampara district coastal areas took part and the Blue Eleven SC team representing of Addalaichenai Divisional Secretariat division was emerged champions. The Ar-Raheemiya SC team representing of Akkaraipattu Divisional secretariat division became runner-up.
The Akkaraipattu DS team won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 43/10 in 10 overs. In reply Addalaichenai DS team scoured 44/4 in 7.4 overs.
The champion players at this competition will have to contest at Provincial level competition will be conducted by the Eastern Province Sports Department. Those who win in the Provincial level will be allowed to partake at National level.
