The Asia-Pacific regional meeting workshop on research management was held under the headship of Science, Technology and Research Minister Susil Premajayantha, yesterday at the Galadari Hotel.
The vision of the Science, Technology and Research Ministry is for Sri Lanka to become a scientifically and technologically advanced country by the year 2020.
Minister Premajayantha said, “I am happy to collaborate with the National Science Foundation of Sri Lanka (an institute coming under my ministry) and the Science, Innovation and Employment Ministry of New Zealand, in co-organizing the Asia-Pacific regional meeting of the GRC for this year.”
The minister added, “My government believes that scientific research and innovation plays a major role in the sustainable socio-economic development of our country.”
