Body of a women recovered from the Upper Kothmale reservoir

The body of an unidentified woman was recovered from the Upper Kotmale Reservoir by the Thalawakele early morning today.
 
The residents of the area had spotted the  body floating in the reservoir and notified the Thalawakele Police who had recovered the body using a boat. They had later examined the body and established that it was of a female.
 
The police said that the body may have been in the water for several days and it had decomposed beyond recognition.
 
The Magisterial inquiry was conducted by the Nuwara Eliya Magistrate and was later sent to the Nuwaya Eliya Hospital for the postmortem examination. Further investigations are being carried out by the Thalawakele Police.
