President has rendered yeomen service to country - Malwatte Anunayake

President Maithripala Sirisena has rendered yeomen service to the country and people and also by working for the well-being of the Sambuddha Sasanaya, said Sayamopali Maha Nikaya Malwatte Chapter, Anunayake, Ven. Dimbulkumbure Sri Saranangkara Wimaladhammhidana Thera.

The President’s leadership has greatly contributed towards getting rid of social ills such as the drug menace and helped build a more educated and well balanced society in the last four years.

The Anunayake Thera invited the President to not only serve his remaining year but the next five years for the benefit of the people and the country.

The Anunayake Thera was speaking at a ceremony at the Presidential Secretariat to present temple land deeds to Buddhist temples yesterday.

Close to 60 temples including the Sambuddha Sasanaya Viharaya received temple deeds and the President presented a few deeds to chief incumbents of temples to mark the event.

Ministers Sajith Premadasa and Gayantha Karunathilake, Deputy Minister Edward Gunasekara, Lands and Parliamentary Reforms Ministry Secretary W.H Karunaratne and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
