Responding to the Army’s call around 11,000 deserters have re-joined to assist in curbing extremism.
Army deserters were requested on April 22 to re-join the Army after the Easter Sunday attacks. Responding to the request, Army deserters who had not reported for duty have re-joined the Army.
It is significant that this is the first time that such a large number of deserters re-joined the Army within a short period. It has been reported that a large number of Navy and Air Force absentees and deserters have reported for duty again expressing their willingness to join.
