Farmers in the South have sold 110T of paddy to the Southern Province Paddy Marketing Board outlets this Yala Season, according to PMB Southern Region Manager M.S. Senanyaka. Senanyaka said that during the past Maha Season, paddy farmers in the Southern Province had sold about 850T of paddy to the PMB. He added that the reason behind it was that the private sector buys paddy from farmers at Rs.55 per kilograms, Rs.5 above the price of the PMB.
