Composer duo Salim and Sulaiman Merchant, renowned Bollywood singer Shreya Ghoshal and flautist Paras Nath recently collaborated on a unique music project.
Talking about it, Paras Nath says, “It is probably the first album where music of different genre is the highlight. There is Thumri, Indian classical, contemporary, and the combination of western and Indian music which makes ‘Bhoomi 2020’ so unique. The set of artistes involved in the album is also a list that could be termed ‘incredible’. I don’t think so there has been an album this year with so many music maestros and musicians working together.”
There are seven songs in the album that have been composed by the music maestros Salim and Sulaiman Merchant.
Paras says, “I have been associated with Salim and Sulaiman Merhant since many years. I have done so many movie songs, shows and performances with them. And now it was a great experience to work with them once more and recording the song in the studio.
Shreya Ghoshal has sung the song and we all had great fun together. The best part about Salim bhai is that he gives every artiste their space and allows their creativity to flow.”
Salim Merchant and Sulaiman Merchant who have worked with the flautist since many years add, “Paras is a talented and versatile artiste and we are glad to have him as a part of this music project.”
