With reference to the article headlined “The New Cold War in the Indo Pacific Theatre” that appeared in these pages on December 22, 2020, sourced from the Observer Research Foundation, the writer Asanga Abeyagoonasekera was described as the Director General of the National Security Think Tank of Sri Lanka under the Ministry of Defence. We have been informed by the Institute of National Security Studies, Sri Lanka (INSSSL) that their organisation is the only national security think tank under the Ministry of Defence and the aforesaid writer has no affiliation with the INSSSL in any capacity and that their Director General Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage bears no responsibility for the contents of the said article.
