A constable who was on night duty at the official residence of the Kandy High Court Judge was arrested on the charge of being intoxicated and disruptive yesterday.
The PC in question was remanded till January 12 after being produced before Kandy Chief Magistrate Duminda Mudunkotuwa yesterday.
This officer who was drunk has gone to the official residence of the judge in his vehicle and parked it at the verandah without permission on December 31.
He had an altercation with another constable on duty.
He was arrested on a complaint made to the Central Province DIG.
When a police team came to the place to arrest the police officer, he had left the place leaving his official weapon at the gate of the residence. Police later received information that he was receiving treatment at the Kandy General Hospital.
He was arrested at the hospital and produced before the Kandy Magistrate.
