An employee of a hotel in Kurunegala has been stabbed to death with a broken bottle by a customer following an argument over the price of a banana.
The Police said a person who went to a hotel at Perakumaba Street in the Kurunegala town had asked for the price of bananas. The hotel owner and his assistants had told the customer that the price of a banana was Rs.30. The consumer had argued with the hotel owner saying that the prices are very high and thereby, an argument had ensued between the customer and the hotel employees.
Later, the angry customer had stabbed an employee of the hotel with a broken glass bottle. The incident had taken place on March 20 and the employee had died the following day (21).
