Only scientific approaches together with indigenous medicines can control the COVID pandemic, Media Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said.
“Even if you drink tonnes of honey, you might contract the virus. Only through scientific research, vaccination and indigenous medicines could we control the pandemic,” he said.
He was speaking at a ceremony to mark the 100th anniversary of the Sipdora online educational programme, which is provided free by the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) for schoolchildren in the Matara District.
He said that the pandemic is a grave threat to the health, economy, education and the very survival of the people.
Therefore, children, parents, teachers and administrators must work together to overcome the pandemic, the Minister said.
