Transport State Minister Dilum Amunugama said schoolchildren and teachers will be allowed to cross provincial boundaries for schools and back home.
He said although travel restrictions between provinces exist, the Sisu Seriya buses will be in operation without a shortage.
The State Minister made this comment during a media briefing held on Saturday (23) in Kandy.
He said further that discussions will be held with Zonal Education Directors and based on requirements, instructions have been given to Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) and Provincial Transport Authorities to deploy Sisu Seriya buses without considering restrictions.
He said that fares will be paid by the Government for SLTB buses and the National Transport Commission will make payments to private buses.
