Indictments served on Azath Salley

Indictments were served on former Governor Azath Salley for allegedly making a statement during a media briefing to incite racial tension.

He made this statement during a media briefing held on 09th March and was subsequently arrested.

Indictments were served when the case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Amal Ranaraja yesterday. The case will be taken up once again on November 2. Salley was arrested at the Colpetty Market on March 16.
